TWTW - the one with the family down the shore

I worked at the shore Thursday so was primed to head to the foggy boardwalk with my brother, sister-in-law, and the kids right after. Greek food and ice cream and Lola Jean fell dead asleep in her stroller, it was super cute. Dad and Carol arrived later.
Friday started out overcast but turned out to be hot and sunny after the fog burned off. Aubrey’s parents came down and we all enjoyed a long beach day. I finished a book, came home to Bruce's destruction, and enjoyed a great meal by Stephen & Aubrey.
We hit the boards at night to see Lola on the rides, smile at the smiliest baby Stephen, have ice cream, and I bought tie dye while wearing tie dye. Cool, cool. Stephen got the same shirt but a different variation because all tie dye is different, obviously.
Saturday it was supposed to rain all day but it didn’t, period. Kudos, weather peeps. I was happy they were wrong of course. So after some work on the house in the morning thanks to my Dad, we hit the beach again. Stephen did hotdogs and hamburgers on the grill and we went to the boards. I actually saw people attempting to hand out flat earth literature for a flat earth event and scoffing at the ignorance of those who wouldn’t take it (everyone). They wouldn’t give me any which made me sad because I wanted to read the crazy.
Sunday was windy and cold. Lots of morning lounging and cleaning up and making soap and talking about a RV trip in five years.
I was on the road for home by 2. MFD was in Harrisburg overnight so I did five loads of laundry, cleared out the fridge, took out the trash, picked up, listed some stuff on eBay, and made sure Gus got to sit with me all night since he stayed home this weekend.

Weekly food prep: breakfasts are cinnamon raisin bagels with cream cheese, snacks are strawberries and bananas, lunch is shredded buffalo chicken from the freezer on a roll or PBJ, and I'm finishing that pasta salad before I consider anything else. I also made a vat of iced coffee and have bone broth going for the dogs.

I loved the time with the fam in this new-ish tradition, especially Lola Jean and Baby Seeeeve. Today is my brother Stephen's actual birthday. Happy birthday! Love you so much.

How was your weekend?

  3. Flat Earthers ... at the shore ... I wonder what their reasoning is that the ocean water is still there. I mean, wouldn't the water just drop off the 'side' into the atmosphere? Or are we encased in a glass cube so the water just hits the side and then comes back, causing the waves? I'm intrigued by their crazy. :)

  4. It boggles my mind that there are people who believe the earth is flat and it makes me super sad that they wouldn't give you their literature because I would have liked to have heard more about their crazy. Hope you enjoyed Unsub! I liked it and the second book, Into the Black Nowhere is also good.
