Engrossing Reads

Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid - I freaking loved this book, it is very close to a five star for me. I was unsure about it until about 10 pages in, then I was all in. It felt behind the scenes and like someone was telling me a Fleetwood Mac-ish personal story. Free e-copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review, comes out on March 5, 2019. Pre-order from Amazon

An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen - The Wife Between Us writing team is back, and I liked this one better. It was creepy in a good way. Free e-copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review, comes out on January 8, 2019 Pre-order from Amazon

Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren - This isn't my typical read but I freaking loved this book. It made me laugh (see last lines below) and feel squishy inside too. It's like a romance book for people who don't like romance books. Hazel is an awesome character. Free e-copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review Buy it

A Gathering of Secrets (Kate Burkholder #10) by Linda Castillo - I continue to love this series. I waited for a while for this one and it did not disappoint. Philly library hardback Buy it

August and Everything After by Jennifer Salvato Doktorski - I absolutely chose this book for the title - I read it in August and it matches the Counting Crows album - and was pleasantly surprised to love it. It's YA. Philly library paperback Buy it

The Secrets She Keeps by Michael Robotham - I do love a nutter of a main character and this one surely delivered. Triggers for pregnant people/new parents. Philly library hardback Buy it

Passed the Time Just Fine

The French Girl by Lexie Elliott - I waited a freaking eternity for this to come in at the library and while I liked it just fine, I was like over six months waiting for that? Philly library hardback

The Line That Held Us by David Joy - There’s no sunshine in this book. I love a solid Appalachia story but they are certainly not light. Free e-copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Mystic Summer by Hannah McKinnon - Easy breezy beach read, everything tied up neatly in a bow. OCNJ library paperback

Not Worth It
Boardwalk Summer by Meredith Jaeger - A quick read, and one that was very very surface. I loved the idea of the book, the execution, eh. Paperback, own, will trade in

The Secrets We Keep by Kate Hewitt - Everyone in this book is an asshole, adult and child alike. No one was spared. Something insane happened at the end and just...no. Paperback from some library

Did Not Finish
Tell Me You're Sorry by Kevin O'Brien - I quit this book right in its monster middle. It wasn't that it was bad, per se, just, I got to the middle and had an entire other book (like 250 more pages) to read and I didn't want to. I will quit a book at any time. Paperback, own, will trade in

Summer Island by Kristin Hannah - There are two types of Kristin Hannah books: Kristin Hannah and Kristin Hannah light. This was the latter and I was not in the mood and don't think I will be. Amazon kindle e-book
