TWTW - the one in Lake Harmony

Friday Gail, Nicole, and I packed two tons of shit into a small sedan and trekked up the back roads to Lake Harmony for Crystal's bachelorette party. I know, I don't do bachelorettes but Crystal is family, not to mention a lot of laughs and fun. Friday night was spent acquainting ourselves with 15+ of Crystal's bitches.
A little Saturday morning reading in nature and lounging around, laughing at online dating, and watching people swipe right. And posing with a teddy bear rug, because that's what you do when you see one.
A little after 12:30, Gail, Nicole, and I moseyed on down to the Sand Bar to while away the afternoon watching a wedding, having some drinks, and making friends, including two widowed 70ish ladies who gabbed with me about feminism and independence...my kind of people. The girls all went to dinner and we met them later at Shenanigans for, you know, shenanigans. It was a fun night and excellent people watching both in the club and at karaoke in the bar. Crystal's girls did a great job putting together a nice weekend celebrating the fabulous Crystal.
Sunday we were up and out early, had breakfast on the way home where I ate like I have never eaten before, and I was in my living room with a large DD iced coffee before 12:30.
I lounged the rest of the day, did some laundry, had groceries delivered, and read. We also watched Urban Cowboy and 495 episodes of 30 Rock. Hashtag favorites. I had to lounge because I am out of practice on the party train.

Weekly food prep: breakfast is English muffins with PB&J, snacks are fruit and bell peppers, lunches are turchicken burgers from the freezer sans bun with a side of riced cauliflower and asparagus, and dinners will be grilled chicken thighs and veggies or eggs with veggies.

Not to bum anyone out, but it smelled like fall in the mountains Sunday morning.

It's a beautiful and perfectly cool morning. Great day for cleaning and a LJBQ visit later today and biking on the canal tonight. Every day's a new day! Thank the universe. Love. Your. Momma.

  4. I've never seen Urban Cowboy. However, I am on an old movie kick as of late so maybe I'll have to throw that one on ye old list.

I have not been to a bachelorette party in roughly 5 years. I wouldn't know what to do should I get invited to one now because #old

    1. Urban Cowboy is a joint love of both Steph's and mine... so, you have to watch it. You must.

  6. Looks like fun. The stores are already bringing out their fall themed decor and cinnamon scented everything and it is bumming me out.

  8. The only reason I'm bummed out about the smell of fall is because I didn't witness/smell it. Then again, I left my house in a cardigan this morning because of the 57 degree temp. YES YES YES :)
Sounds like an awesome weekend! Glad you got to recover on Sunday!

  9. I love that banner! :D
It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend.
It smelled like fall here on SUNDAY! Crazy.
My husband woke up and said, "Babe, it smells like fall." Which is crazy because it smelt like 100% I'm sweating my balls off the day before. Thurs. Fri. and Saturday were hot here. I'm not sure if you've heard me complain about no AC here in the PNW, but they don't believe in it, so we were sweating our butts off. It was nice to wakeup to fall-like weather, rustling leaves included. :)
    XOXO

  10. I'm so ready for cooler temps, I miss real fall though. Fall in the south isn't even in the same league as a northern fall. Sounds like y'all had a great time!

  11. I want to smell fall!!! We have at least until October before that scent starts to fill the air down here. Sounds like you had a fun weekend! And I have to lounge on Sundays regardless if I partied or not so I feel ya. DD makes it better :)

  14. That banner totally sets the tone :)
Now if all bachelorettes were like that - I'd do more of them myself too

  15. I agree with everyone, that banner is amazeballs. I'm not quite ready for fall, but I wouldn't mind if Mother Nature turned down the humidity a little bit. This month of 90+ degree temps has not been good on ole lupus girl. I miss you, we need to get together! <3

  21. Bachelorette party weekends are always so much fun, especially because you get to celebrate somebody that's special to you! That Teddy Bear rug is too funny!

  23. This looks like it was such a good time. Girl friend time is the best sometimes, and having the lake as the backdrop--even better!

  24. hahahahaha with all my bitches, that is the best!
i am already bummed out about fall - i left the house the other morning and it felt like winter-okay it was like 60 something but still that's cold enough for me to complain haha. i'm going to try and complain less this year, as you can see, already off to a great start.
what is the thing that looks like toast in the middle picture? i mean i am sure it is toast, but what is on it? i'm so curious. in between the brekkie sandwiches and flowers.
looks like you had a fabulous time with the girls. i would need to nap/relax after that weekend too. love 30 rock!
