Currently - June

Observing...One of my cardinal rules of ownership and organization: one in, one out. In the past week I've gotten two new pairs of sneakers. Both pink. I got rid of two old pairs of sneakers. Both blue. Symmetry.

Organizing...undergarments and socks. I have too many of both and that shit must go. How great is Amazon Prime same day delivery? I ordered these yesterday at 10 a.m. and they were there when I got home. Boom.

In search of...comfortable cotton capri pajama pants. Anyone? Bueller? Hook a sister up if you love a pair/brand. I got a pair from Target this spring and I like them but I don't love them.

Wearing...Dresses. This heat & humidity is not my type of weather.

Nodding my head at...this. You go ahead and be miserable if you want to be, but don't expect the rest of the world to sit around and listen or care. I've aged out of wasting my breath on people who are miserable as a way of life.
Sadly identifying with...From Monday to Wednesday my nails were questionable. I feel awful when my nails look bad.

Loving...that we're setting up a mini in-home gym in the basement. First, it makes my heart sing to see unused space re-purposed. Second, I hate going to the gym. The last thing I want to do when I get home is go out again. I did it for a while and the nights were like five minutes long. I need to lift weights so I don't look like the hunchback of Notre Dame or am unable to lift myself off the toilet when I'm a real old lady. My weights are currently upstairs willy nilly and we all know how much I hate willy nilly living.

Hating...some of my fellow commuters. Humidity makes a lot of these people even assier and more unbearable than they are normally. Sometimes the train car is like Lord of the Flies. Civilization breaking down, man's true nature revealed, and all that shit. \

Wanting...to eat soft ice cream every day in the summer and for it to be zero calories and packed with antioxidants and other good for you things. That's not to much to ask for, right?

Counting down...to vacation. One week from now and it'll be my last day before 10 consecutive days off.

Laughing at...

What's going on with you?

  1. This year, when I've visited the States, I discovered Soma's pajamas. Oh my sweet geezus, they are so soft and comfortable. Check them out.

  2. OMG, what is that 3rd sock organizer pouchy thing? I need it in my life.

  3. The undergarments/sock storage is a great idea. Yes, to the miserable people, just be in your own corner of the world and leave us out of it. Why can't ice cream be calorie free??? Someone needs to work on that asap.

  4. amazon prime is the shizzzzz! love it, love it! hey, the lactic acid in dairy is good for the skin! but it's best if applied topically, but hey, i see that as a health reason to eat it. ha! i'm leaving for vacation in 12 hours. wahoo!

  5. I honestly can't take it if one nail is chipped - then they all need to be taken care of! I saw your sock organizing on insta last night - looks like fun hehe! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  6. The organizing hack works...one in, one out. I am in the school countdown...2 more days! I love soft serve too. When I'm craving ice cream, that's it. We don't have same day Prime...too far out in the burbs. Good luck with commuter hell today.

  7. You know what? When my nails are bad, I feel sad about it. I never really realized that, but it's SO true. Yay for home gym! I don't mind doing cardio at the gym but know I need to do some other work with weights and the thought of doing so in the gym is not my idea of a good time at all.

  8. That ice cream looks SO GOOD. My nails are always in a state of disarray. It's terrible. When I get them done, I don't bite them and they are fine. When I don't, all bets are off. I feel you on nights feeling 5 minutes long. I don't appreciate this development.

  9. My husband has put us on a one in one out system now, which is great, but tough when you like a lot of the same things that fit well. That organizer is amazing.

As is that quote. miserable people are the worst.

  10. I HAD so many so many socks, bras, & pairs of underwear so before I moved I went through all of it & threw over half of what I had because I didn't wear it. That ice cream looks so good. Maybe if you close your eyes & wish hard enough the calories will disappear??

  11. Same day delivery? That's magic. I so love that your weight lifting motivation is getting off the toilet in old age. When you put it that way, I may be a little more motivated, too.

  12. I have so many socks its not even funny. I totally need to organize them one day. When it's hot and humid, I'm a totally miserable and I too just want ice cream. That ice cream looks so good.

  13. Love the blog update! As I said on insta, all of my undies and socks are in some canvas storage bins and that's organized for me. It's so funny but I'm super organized and anal at work but at home...ehh. As long as it has some sort of place, I'm good.

  14. haha my nails are always chipped! i don't know how people don't have unchipped nails!

  15. I need to organize so badly and I totally agree with this humidity...it's gross!!

  16. I want all the ice cream, I've been sugar free since I got sick last time and I want to eat all the freakin' sugar. ALL. OF. IT.

Yayyyy for vacation, so close you can almost justify packing!

  17. Haha that ecard!!! I bet Amazon Primes doesn't offer same day delivery to my house...haha. I am lucky we get delivery way out there at all. I mean the internet just came last year. Haha jk not really but it feels like it. Anyways, now I really REALLY want a cup of mint chocolate chip ice cream in such a bad way after reading your post. Hurray for home gyms!! Mine is all willy nilly right now with the treadmill in the garage and my weights in the guest room. One day we will get it all together. Probably in a different house....hahaha.

  18. I can never seem to find that perfect way to arrange my undergarments. My nail polish is always chipped. I never bother to remove it after putting. Home Gym sounds fun.

  19. I just got rid of a bag of stuff. I love dropping stuff off at Goodwill.
My nails almost always look like that :(

  20. LOL symmetry in your shoe-getting and ridding :). YES, I definitely wear more dresses these days because of the heat. Yay for setting up that mini-gym! Mmmm…..Kohr Bros.

  21. Screaming AMEN! about that miserable people image! You bet your ass I pinned that!

    ReplyDelete
  22. So I totally did a Thursday Thoughts post today, but you didn't! LOL
I am all about dresses in the summer. And sometimes soft serve is the best damn thing I've ever eaten.

  23. I have a pair just like this only capris http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=36107&vid=1&pid=432485012 and they're SO comfy. I don't see the capris on their site right now, so you could either wait until they're selling them again or just cut the bottoms off. no judgment here ;)

  24. Love those organizers! Working out at home is so much better than going to the gym. A gym at home is the absolute best. I was so thrilled when we finally bought a stationary bike. The bike, one pair of dumbbells, and a yoga mat and I can do pretty much everything I want to do.

    ReplyDelete
  25. You are so organized! I love your one-in, one-out idea. that is truly brilliant.

And I think we are all always in a silent battle w/ our fellow commuters.

so awesome you have an at-home mini gym. Whenever we move into an actual house, I'm ensuring we got at least a few things in a garage or something on the days I don't want to leave the house to workout!~

  26. I need some organizers like that for my underwear, socks and bathing suits. I have Amazon Prime but never used the same-day shipping. That's awesome! The humidity is a bitch here right now!

  27. Your sign about the miserable people is spot on. Sometimes you just want to yell that to those around you.

Stopping by from the link up :)

  28. Amazon Prime has same day delivery? How did I not know this? There's actually a facility in my town and most days, after I order something, I want to just drive over there and pick it up instead of waiting the 2 days because clearly, 2 day shipping is not fast enough.

My nails look like SHIT. Twice a year, they molt. Like snakes. We're in molting season right now.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Same day delivery might just be the death of me. I do one in/one out too (with most things, unless I'm filling a need that's new or something) and organization is my jam. There have been times where I've contemplated leaving work at 10 a.m. to run to Target for an organizational piece and literally can't think of anything until I know I'll have it and can get to organizing. It's a sickness, but I'd rather have this one than the inverse.
ALSO. Miserable people. This is a huge thing for me. I cannot stand being around consistently negative people. Complaining about a bad day at work is one thing. Finding fault in every. single. thing is quite another, and I refuse to be around it. Life is hard, and I don't need your shit attitude making mine harder or more depressing. Some people aren't happy unless they're miserable, ya know?

  30. That nail polish pic is awesome... and true. There is a blogger out there that once posted a pic of her sparkly sandal and ratchet chipped toenails... I was horrified to say the least. I agree with things going out when other things come in, lessons learned from being married to a semi-coo-coo-hoarder. When in doubt throw it out, or at least donate it!

  31. Ugh a packed sticky/smelly train is not good for business! And loving that nail polish pic... I've definitely been there oops!

  32. I drive to work and I get so ragey and I'm 85% sure that I'm extra ragey because of how obnoxiously hot it is in Charleston.
Questionable nails is why I don't even bother with polish. My current record is 8 months of wearing the same chipped off color. I'm not a little bit embarrassed by that admission. I pride myself on that amount of laziness.
Maxi dresses are my new absolute favorite things. Above the knee for shaved legs, to the floor for unshaved legs. Easy peasy. :)

  33. Wait... same DAY Amazon Prime?! That's my kind of online shopping!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Same Day Amazon Prime? I just ordered something this morning and did not see that option! How much extra is that ish?

  35. I got two really comfy pairs of capri pajamas...one was from Costco the other was from Soma. The Soma pants would have been a complete rip-off but I got them on sale. They are really good quality though. My nails look awful with my lovely chipped white nail polish. Other than that it's been so humid that I'm losing motivation to do anything.

  36. i wear my spalding cotton capris everywhere! they're so comfy; got them at winners for $9.99. they used to be for workouts but now they're too big for me so i wear them as pjs/home clothing. their board shorts are also really comfy for sleeping.

  37. OOh I love currently posts. I should probably resurrect mine again. Hopefully soon. Anyway, loving that typography about miserable people. So true. Too much energy is spent feeling miserable.

  38. I wish we had soft serve places here! I have to resort to DQ or McDonald's chocolate dipped "ice cream" cones. All we have is a zillion frozen yogurt shops. That picture reminds me that I've read Lord of the Flies, but not seen the movie. I should do that.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I could eat soft serve ice cream everyday too. Instead, I've settled for the cheaper, lower calorie option: Yasso ice cream bars. Chocolate and mint chocolate chip are both fantastic.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Ha, I read that first statement as I bought two shoes and they were the same color... and I'm thinking, duh. I'm an idiot and the heat has melted my brain apparently. Maybe i just need to eat some frozen yogurt and do some brain exercises. Anywho, cheers to you for the downstairs gym - one of the perks of our apartment is a gym... but I never go there. Help inspire me.

  41. i feel like.. scummy almost when my nails are all chipped and gross, which is why i gave up on painting them. lol. i love them when they are nice and pretty, but they chip too fast and i hate that feeling.
good luck on the pajama pant hunt! i've been looking too. why is it so hard?!
that ice cream kinda looks green (is it? my eyes lol old lady status) which basically means its spinach, so eat away ;)
i wish we had a home gym! i despise the gym, especially in the evenings. one day when we have a basement or a garage we will be doing that.
