TWTW - the one with the reckoning

Friday night fuck it allllll, fatassery, and messy nails (OPI Suzi & the Arctic Fox with Dutch Ya Just Love OPI ring fingers). I should have waited to take a pic until I cleaned off the edges but the world is an imperfect place and so are my nails right after I get finished painting them.
Saturday I hit Redner's and Produce Junction early and put my fall shit out for the first time in two years. MFD cleaned out the front and re-mulched and potted mums that will die this week like they always do. He just has to put the lights out front and we'll be set. I guess I should also get candy for Halloween. I also did a bunch of other shit around the house before 1 pm like cleaning out all the spaces shit has piled up in as we treat this house like a way station in between our time at the shore most weeks. Saturday afternoon was spent at Shady Brook Farm where I ran a work event. It was hot as fuck but a good time.
A quick stop home to feed the dogs and change then off to the 17th Annual Welcoming the Stranger International Dinner as guests of our friends from McCarthy Real Estate. What a great organization. And for the dinner, people make food from their countries to share with everyone. So good. I ate so much and had to be rolled home. Stacey and Ever stopped by to meet Bruce Springsteen after so he bit other people for a change.
Praise Jesus I slept eight hours and forgot we even had a puppy. My mom came to visit with A&S bagels and bakery goods, and I spent Sunday doing yard work a little at a time every time I went out with the dogs so it wasn't as painful as it usually is, laundry, food prep, purging various hidey holes around the house, hanging with the dogs, watching Parks & Rec for the zillionth time, and reading.
Weekly food prep: breakfast is ham and cheese egg bake with some everything bagel dust in there; lunch is creamy tomato spinach pasta; dinners are french dip with brussels sprouts and mushrooms and baked chicken breasts with mashed sweet potatoes and roasted zucchini if I need it. We'll be out a few times this week. Snacks are honey crisp apples and cherry and vanilla noosa yogurt.

Why was it the one with the reckoning? When you are away every weekend there is a lot of little shit that does not get done. You know what your yard looks like when you don't do yard work? The yard at Sanford & Son. So when you're home you have to do it and it's not that fun.

The other stuff was fun though, so it evens out. How was yours?

  5. Love that purple nail color. I bought the Everything Bagel seasoning and have yet to find a use for it - seasoning eggs with it is a great idea.

  6. I’m not out of town every weekend but October has been so busy this was the first weekend we had to get shot done. Not to mention I didn’t latch pup #2s kennel so at 3 am I wake up and there are as many dogs as People in the queen size bed. Don’t mind the crick in my back. Ha! Happy Monday!!

  8. That's always the worst part about being gone for so long, having to do all the things at your house that don't get done when you're out of town. Your Friday night sounds pretty amazing though!

  10. Sat. night was 8 hours of sleep for me too -- simply glorious ... and then I couldn't sleep worth anything last night (maybe 3 hours total?) - guess it'll balance out eventually. The Welcoming the Stranger sounds lovely and is so needed everywhere.

  11. Your Friday night fat assery looks right up my alley! Loving the nail polish color. Sleeping in and forgetting you have a puppy has to be the best!!! We had a similar morning Sunday when Ella slept until 745 and I thought she had died because that hasn't happened ever! Sleep is amazing!

  12. Love all your fall decor. I don't really decorate for fall, but I want to start for Zoe when she notices those things. I like the idea of everything seasoning on your eggs like that. I buy Dave's Killer plain bagels and sprinkle that shit on my cream cheese. It is less messy than having the seasoning on the outside..because I eat on the go every morning. Hadn't really though of any other uses for it.

  16. Love the nail colors of choice! I cannot paint my nails without it looking like a 2 year old did the job. Adore the photo of Bruce finding a snuggle spot on MFD as awkward as it can be. LOL Too cute@ Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis

  17. Yay to fall shit! Glad you got so much done on your weekend at home and I hope the mums really didn't die already! I am so jealous you can paint your own nails, I have not been able to master that.

  19. I was so intrigued by that dinner - what a cool idea. I was googling this AM to see if we had something like that here. I love trying new cuisines. Thanks for the nail polish inspiration - I've been looking for some good cold weather colors and those purples are perfect. Happy Tuesday.
