Nail polish is fucking awful to photograph, really. There is much more distinction in the Essie colors than the Polyvore Pretty above leads you to believe.

Your turn to hook a sister up. What are your fall favorite polishes?

Toodleoo, mofos. Happy weekending.

  1. I tend to stick with lots of deep purples and browns in the fall. I can never remember names of the polishes though.

  2. sometimes you can never get the exact shade or prettiness of a polish in a photo--i feel ya. it's white posterboard and a big window to take mine.

  3. I love every single color you picked! I have never tried Zoya before. I need to get on that. I really love those colors the best! I have a lot of medium and dark purple shades and a few darker blue shades for the fall right now. I am about to get three new colors in my Julep box soon, which I think will be my last. I also have a gray that I got from essie two years ago that I still wear the crap out of!

  4. i love dark colors during the colder temps. i saw an essie one called Damsel in Distress when i was in orlando but then didn't buy it because of the 123297347 other polishes i have at home. my fav color to wear on my nails during the winter months is black.

  5. So do you think the pricier nail polish is worth it as far as staying on, not chipping, etc? I have yet to try Essie because of the price tag but I do think my OPI Cajun Shrimp stays on way longer than any of my other polishes.

  6. I love I'm Not Really A Waitress!!!

I'm a huge fan of dark colors in the fall and winter. I wear Essie No More Film, Chocolate Kisses, and Sexy Divide quite often and I bought For The Twill of It All a few months ago so I know that will be a new winter favorite. I have a bunch of reds but can't remember the names right now.

  7. My mature hands need pale colors. I use Sally Hansen's Platinum- it's a white frosted. For the toes, I can go darker, but love the pinks. Most important thing- nail and toenail health. Why are so many getting fungus on toes and fingernails- SUGAR and SUGAR SUBSTITUTE. It is not only caused by unsanitary conditions at salons. Take it from me- wean yourselves now! And give your toes a break from polish. End of my public service message today.
    Carpe diem the weekend.
    Love, your MOMMA

I also have an Avon color my mom got me called warm black I like a lot, it's more of a deep burgundy purple than a black.

  11. I haven't bought nail polish in a long time, but my favorites are OPI's Every Month is Oktoberfest and Road House Blues. The Baguette Me Not looks better on than in the bottle!

  12. I'm lazy and never stay in the lines so I pay nice Asian ladies to do my nails. LOL I know Essie is a nice brand with lots of options :) Happy Friday Stephanie! -Iva

  13. I wish I did not bite the living hell out of my nails so I could enjoy polishes such as these... I know, it's such bad. I blame my anxiety.

  16. I'm on the lookout for a nice olive green polish for fall. Thankfully, I still have plenty of time before fall starts since the high in Austin tomorrow is 90.

  18. I think Essie Merino Cool is one of my favorites, too. I just got 2 from the drugstore the other day that I really, really like...one is Revlon Parfumerie in Autumn Spice (a really pretty dark coppery brown that has TINY little maroon/gold sparkles that you can't really see unless they hit the light) and the other is another regular Revlon polish, I can't remember the name off the top of my head but it's a really dark navy/steel blue. I love grays/dark blues in the fall, and I gravitate more toward the reds at Christmastime.

  19. I love the purple hues with a grayish tint you have posted. I've been using Sally Hansen's Miracle Gel polish lately and I'm loving it. Stays on so much longer, and is also so shiny. I'm going to look for some fall colors today!

  20. BRB, ordering all of those...
I completely suck at painting my nails but I still get suckered in to buying polish anyway. Fall is definitely my favorite for nail colors. I love anything grey and/or dark.

  21. I have never heard of Zoya before, but that 3rd one is so pretty. I'm not very good at painting my nails, or buying nail polish, I got a free dark purple polish from Julep that I'm gonna try out tomorrow, we'll see!

  22. I've been seeing so many amazing colors lately that I want to go buy more. More stuff that I rarely use as it is! You mentioned it is hard to photograph polish and I am wondering if you created the image with the Essie colors? I need to learn how to create images like that.

  23. Nail polishes are so hard to photograph I totally agree! I usually take them outside and the sun hitting them helps but that requires me to be doing blogging stuff during daylight hours which is pretty slim ;-)

  24. I never paint my nails at home, but I do have colors for when I desperately need to. 1 glittery one, 1 essie for spring/ summer (imported bubbly) and 1 essie for fall/winter (chinchilly)

  27. I have so many shades of purple and my favorite shade for fall is OPI Lincoln Park. It's a dark dark purple with tiniest flecks in it. Now, I just need time to paint mine!

  29. #9 for the win! Although, Ive been splurging on gel mani's lately cause I suck at doing nails.

  30. Nice polishes! I actually don't wait nail polish often. I feel weighed down. It's weird. We have a sparkly one that Natalie picked out.

  31. So I have to say... I just looked at my polishes.... I thought I was an adventurous girl... they are all shades of pinks and reds, minus my one purple? Weird. I need some good fall colors - maybe a dark red? But really.. I want to be a nail polish namer...
