Hello hello friends! You know the drill. Skimmers, recommendations are in bold (and typically clickable). My good friend Amanda from Voyage of the MeeMee is joining me for recommendations this month.

1. Sephora Ultimate Oil-In-Gel Lipstick Remover: I'm a big fan of long lasting lip color (pretty and lazy at the same time = winning!) but I'm not a fan of having to scrub the top 3 layers of my skin raw to get it off at the end of the day. Enter: this stuff. Don't ask me how the science part works, but basically the oils dissolve the lip color with less time and effort than it took to apply it in the first place.
2. The Jenna & Julien Podcast: I adore Jenna Marbles. Her and her boyfriend, Julien, have a podcast (new episodes every Monday) and it's ridiculous and awesome and magical. The end.
3. Change.org: This is a global petition site that was created to raise awareness on a broad range of topics and inspire positive action as it relates to them. Through it, I've learned about issues that I never would've known existed otherwise. Knowledge is power, yo.
4. Starbucks' S'Mores Frappuccino: If you haven't had one of these yet, what are you doing with your life? Seriously. Sit down in a corner and re-evaluate your purpose. Don't come back until you've thought long and hard about it.
5. Swiffer 360° Dusters Extender: Because: oldness. I have terrible allergies and this bad boy works wonders on dust, without stirring it up in the air. I can even reach behind our washer/dryer with it. There are no words to describe my excitement over that. Am I a loser? Yes. But, I'm a clean loser.

1. Make your corn on the cob in the microwave. Three minutes per piece. It peels like a dream. If you're just making it for yourself or you and one other, this is the way to go. You won't be sorry.
2. Kernel Cutter. Why no, I'm not finished talking about corn on the cob yet. Seasonal hazard. If you are like me and do not actually eat the corn off the cob, but in a bowl chock full of butter and salt, this tool will make your life easier. But where it really comes in handy is when I'm making a ton of corn and freezing it so I have fresh corn throughout the winter. Mine is Pampered Chef and they don't offer it anymore, but I'd definitely try one by someone else if something happened to mine. I think you can search Ebay for the Pampered Chef one.
3. Extra Toasty Cheez-Its. Thanks to Laura at Oh Laura Darling for posting about these. They are the bomb. If you're a Cheez-Its fan, get on it.
4. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 in Ruby. It's the lightest hint of color, very moisturizing, and has SPF. I use it in lieu of colorless lip balm and believe it's universally flattering. I have three other colors of these, but this is my daily and my go-to.
5. Daily Sunscreen. Yes, daily. Not only when you're at the beach or pool. I use Coppertone Clearly Sheer SPF 30 for face and various for body, my latest is Sun Bum because the name makes me laugh and I like the smell. It's not greasy which is always a bonus. I like Coppertone and Hawaiian Tropic for the body also.
Thanks to Amanda or MeeMee as I like to call her for throwing out some recommendations this month.Let us hear yours! What are you recommending this month?
Yesss... Corn on the cob in the microwave is genius. We just started doing it out of complete laziness and it works like a charm! :)
ReplyDeleteHow did I not know Jenna Marbles had a podcast? I love her, she is too hilarious. Confession: The Smores Frap was too sweet. But I did LOVE that cookie straw. I'd take another pack of those.
ReplyDeleteI still haven't tried the S'mores Frappuccino...I dislike our nearest Starbucks (poor service), but maybe I should give in and try to order one from them.
ReplyDeleteJenna Marbles is hilarious! I watched her Youtube but didn't know about the podcast. I am not a starbucks person but I want to try the mini version of that drink. I need that tool since I can't eat corn on the actual cobb. I don't know why but Cheez-Its are the best in the summer. I know, I'm weird.

ReplyDeleteS'mores Frap!!!! It's heavenly!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by this lipstick remover.... finally someone recognizes the struggle! Although now I'm wondering the last time I truly wore lipstick... Change.org recently helped us save our superintendent, so I'm a fan! Corn in the microwave - best and easiest way EVER... and OF COURSE there's a tool for that!
ReplyDeleteWHAT?! I feeze bags and bags and bags of corn from our garden and never knew there was such a thing as a corn cutter. Ebay here I come.

ReplyDeleteI plan on getting a s'mores frapp in about an hour because it's lady doctor day and I deserve a present.
ReplyDeleteI have never made corn on the cob in the microwave. Interesting idea...
You are the 2nd person in 2 days to mention the S'mores drunk at Starbucks!! I must try it this weekend (I never go to Starbucks)!!! I've been microwaving corn on the cob for years. It makes it so easy!
ReplyDeleteI've been addicted to the Cheez It Zingers in the chipotle cheddar flavor. Holy yum. Also I love anything s'mores but the closest Starbucks to me is about an hour away so yeah.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty anti-corn. I'm weird, I know. But ohh man those cheez its, I need them. I didn't know Jenna had a podcast, I love her! Must listen.
ReplyDeleteCorn in the Micro? You lie! I'm trying this - Can't wait to be SURPRISED! <3 you
ReplyDeleteAnd - - and and - - Toasty Cheez its are DELISH
I need to try those Cheez-Its! We're big Cheez-Its fans in our house... so much so that Ryan wrote in his 5th grade D.A.R.E. essay that "drugs are like Cheez-Its. Once you start, you can't stop." LOL!!
ReplyDeleteI laughed at the multiple corn recs but that tool is definitely genius. I still haven't tried the s'mores frap. Maybe when the summer gets extra hot...

i have never made corn at home because its 'too hard' so now i know i can cook it in the microwave that is brilliant. i am a total heathen and eat it off the cob though.
I've never heard of lipstick remover! Awesome. I broke out my Swiffer duster this weekend. It truly is amazing. CORN ON THE COB IN THE MICROWAVE?! I had no idea. That's a game changer.
ReplyDeleteEveryone has been raving about those smores frappucinos so Im going to have to try one. And I ever thought to cook corn in the microwave but I'm all for the convenience. I never buy raw corn for that reason and go for the frozen ones but that will change.

ReplyDeleteYes to Jenna Marbles. She is sooooooooooooooooooooooo funny. I love her!
ReplyDeleteAnd get out of here with the corn in the microwave trick! I had no idea. I love corn but my husband doesn't so I'm constantly going through a lot of prep for just one serving. Thanks for sharing!!!!
Corn on the Cob in the Micro, interesting. Corn on the cob is the only type of corn I will eat...and never ever off of the cob. So I will basically be looking for one of those cool little tools you have. Thanks
ReplyDeleteHoly Hannah, you've opened up my eyes to some new things that I'm not sure how the frig I missed.
ReplyDeleteJenna Marbles has a podcast? I used to watch her like crazy a few years ago. Pretty amazing how far she's come and how much money she's made just by doing YouTube vids and going viral.
I would never have thought that corn on the cob would cook properly or would maybe taste funny if done in a microwave. And that little tool= GENIUS. That would have been so handy back when I was younger with braces and loved corn on the cob but had to cut it all off. WINNING!
That Sugar lip balm stuff is amaze-balls. I got that stuff a couple of years ago as my birthday "gift" from Sephora. Gotta love freebies! :)
I tried the S'mores frappuccino and it is pretty damn good
ReplyDeleteI've literally just finished listening to the latest Jenna and Julien podcast! I like their outlook on life. It's surprisingly down to earth. Also, I need one of those swiffer things. I think my house grows cobwebs as a hobby...
ReplyDeleteI need that corn cutter thing. I'm going to search for one at Homegoods - I feel like that's somewhere that might have one.
ReplyDeleteCount me in for daily sunscreen. It's an absolute requirement in whatever foundation (I use tinted moisturizer) I put on my face and unless I'm covered by clothing or a building, it's on my skin. Also, love Jenna & Julien's podcast too!
ReplyDeleteThat smores frapp is everything. Everything. I just subscribed to that podcast so I can check it out. I was in need of a new one! Corn on the cobb in the microwave is freaking genius! And would you believe I still haven't gotten around to trying any of the sugar lip products??
ReplyDeleteCorn on the cob in the 'wave?! Now THAT I'm going to have to try!
ReplyDeleteThat Frap sounds amazing and also deadly :). YES to sunscreen, all year! But I don't put it on my arms as much as I should :(.
ReplyDeleteI never heard of that podcast that she recommended. I want to give it a try along with cooking corn in the microwave. It doesn't come out mushy? This is definitely a game changer!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I totally forgot about Jenna Marbles until now. Is it sad that I just put the podcast on a sticky note for Monday? Sounds like a great way to kick off the week!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you liked the cheez its! I had no idea you could make corn in the microwave. This could change my life.
ReplyDeleteI need that lipstick remove. LOVE jenna marbles. Why have i never thought of corn on the cobb in the microwave??
ReplyDeleteI never would have thought to make corn in the microwave! That sounds easy enough!
ReplyDeleteI keep thinking about getting one of those extended Swiffer things because we have lots of areas that can't be reached (by our cleaning lady).
ReplyDeleteI need to try microwaving corn on the cob, but I REALLY can't wait to try the extra toasty Cheez-Its!
I'm dying for my first roadside corn of the season... nothing better! I want to try a "mexican street" version... they sound DELICIOUS! I too am a corn scraper, not a biter! lol
