I feel like when it's still dark it's kind of "extra" time and I can either get things done or just sit and read and drink coffee. Then when the sun comes up and the rest of the world wakes up, the actual day begins. I'm a fan of that first dark hour. But, I still don't want to talk to anyone! Add me to the list of morning people with caveats. Slow wake-ups on my own terms, where every minute of the day ahead is not yet decided and planned out...those, I like. I'm 100% a night person though, if people have to be one or the other, but there is definitely something sweet, special, and unique about peaceful, quiet, on-your-own-terms mornings. And when you live by the beach, there's no doubt that they're extra special.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4071987159907366396.post-9979359037172727702016-10-07T14:46:44.061-04:002016-10-07T14:46:44.061-04:00I wake up early naturally now and while I am not u...I wake up early naturally now and while I am not unpleasant in the morning....I like my peace and quiet in the morning to just do what I want at my leisure. If I had to get up and immediately do something I would be a lot angrier. But I leave myself time to putter a few minutes before my workout and I leave time after my workout and shower to spend some time reading blogs and eating breakfast before I start getting ready to walk out the door. But this summer, my brother asked if I wanted to do the beach with him, my SIL and niece -- and since I'll NEVER say no to anything that involves my goddaughter, I obliged. EVEN THOUGH THEY WANTED TO GO AT 9AM. You see, living on the beach means I can venture down at any time - never rushed, never pressured. I'd go around noon and hang for a few hours with the massive crowds and was content.

But that day, I walked down to the beach at 9 and there wasn't another human in sight aside from my family. The beach was ours. It was quiet and peaceful and serene and just a totally different vibe. It made me regret that I never did that more - and I definitely plan to next summer.Ali Arnonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15481407457549302387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4071987159907366396.post-51612314572557920562016-10-07T10:38:16.262-04:002016-10-07T10:38:16.262-04:00When you can ease into a morning, that's when ...When you can ease into a morning, that's when I'm a morning person.
Here's my deep thought for you - how the same ocean that is calm at your feet is tearing apart part of the world down the coast...the powerful thing you are standing in. perspective.Rebecca Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03965781380511208862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4071987159907366396.post-15463844089223752072016-10-07T10:35:28.109-04:002016-10-07T10:35:28.109-04:00This is wonderful, I'm not a super enthusiasti...This is wonderful, I'm not a super enthusiastic morning person who leaps out of bed, runs 5k, makes a big breakfast and gets to work for 8. My husband is much like you and he often tells me about scenarios where he has gone about his morning, getting our toddler ready, taking him to school, going to work, going into a meeting and finally about a half hour into said meeting, he is awake. His brain takes a minute or an hour to wake up. I, on the other hand, am ready to tackle the day from the moment my eyes open. Great post and I am jealous you are at the shore.
