TWTW - the one where I...

Got up from laying on the couch with the dogs while 807 loads of laundry were going to dance a jig when MFD's favorite dollar store plate that he's insisted on keeping for many years finally broke
Watched 10 episodes of Master of None between Friday night and Saturday and enjoyed some fatassery eating
Battled an asshole of a cold, which means blowing my nose 4083 times, diffusing essential oils, slathering myself with Vick's, and finally hitting the Alka Seltzer thanks to a tip from Helene & John, who I ran into at the grocery store on Sunday
Caught up on my People mags

Got immersed in Broadchurch and stayed up too late Sunday night watching
Made comfort food for dinner - shells with butter and broccoli and chicken thighs with truffle oil - and  power breakfast muffins to freeze
Had a visit from my mom, who came bearing chocolate chip cookies and a medal to take with me on my trip
Saw the first snow of the season
Spent as much time as possible with the dogs
Drug myself out to get a gel manicure and a pedicure
Located the passports and packed my clothes and toiletries for the trip. I just have my carry on with the dreaded electronics and meds left.

I had planned on making my own shaving cream, going to Target, and being done with packing but this cold had a mind of its own. Life is not entirely perfect, right?

Speaking of, did you guys read Steph's post about a #notentirelyperfect hashtag on Instagram? Check it out.

Just this workday stands between me and vacation. Today is the third day in a row I did not succeed at getting up earlier to shift myself forward in time. Please be kind to me, time travel.

  6. Oh gosh - yep - you got the sinus crud. Hopefully you blew it all out & its on its packing its bags as you are yours!
What are you going to do with your doggies while you're gone? I always hate leaving ours even over night- the worst part of traveling to me.

  10. Yuck, being sick is the worst. At least you had your snuggle buddies to keep you company! & I'm intrigued with the idea of homemade shaving cream. Do tell, if you end up making it.

  11. YOU CANNOT HAVE A COLD FOR AFRICA!!!!!! Feel better! You will need energy to capture that baby elephant I want so badly. (Bring his mother too - I don't want her to be sad.)

  13. Well his weekend looks cozy AF. Even with the cold involved! I love how you are still as productive as usual with a massive cold, lol. Go you! And RIP to his dollar store plate. "You used all the glue, on purpose!!!" (hopefully that quote makes sense to you).

  14. I have like 2 episodes left of Master of None. Maybe I'll finish this afternoon. Did finish Narcos yesterday. So there was that.

I can't believe you leave tomorrow!!! I cannot wait to follow along with all the pictures and hear all about it when you get back (speaking of travel, the next time we talk, I need to pick your brain about your Badlands trip).

    Feel better!!

  15. Good luck getting through this last day of work!
I really think our bodies know when we're about to travel. I'm usually sick right before a trip and/or as soon as I get back.
I'll have to check out Master of None. I'm also not current on Broadchurch.

  18. Oh no, I hope you're feeling much better after a sick weekend. It's always a bummer when you're constantly blowing your nose left and right. I haven't seen Master of None, I'll definitely be looking into that. The food you made looks absolutely delicious! I'm jealous. I've been working on my diet, meal prep, and meal planning and I need to find healthier alternatives to what you made! My mouth is watering since I haven't had a delicious comfort meal in a while.

  20. It sounds like you still got a lot accomplished, even if you weren't feeling well. And I always try to get in as many cuddles as possible with Dart before we leave on vacation! I know that he always has a good time at my parents' house, but I still feel guilty about leaving him. And so exciting that your trip is literally just days away! I can't wait to hear all about it!
