Friday Five: Things You Couldn't Pay Me to Do

1. Be a kid/teenager in this day and age
2. Rock climbing or any type of adventure that has me dangling over a zillion foot drop
or that could end in some type of 127 Hours situation
3.  Abstain from voting in an election
4. Eat bugs of any kind
5. Give up my dogs

What couldn't someone pay you to do?

Today's lunch time to do list: stalk Philly Jesus and get froyo at Yogorino because #froYOLO. Happy Friday!

  1. I'm with you on eating bugs, Tyson watches all those survival shows and they are always eating bugs. SO disgusting!

  2. Ugh, I'd hate to be a teenager these days. Social media really ruins teenagers' lives. You couldn't pay me to go back to law school. That shit was terrible.

  3. Philly Jesus - that's quite a story. I didn't vote in the last presidential election. I've got things I strongly dislike about both the main parties, and didn't much care who won. Although now I kind of wish I had voted 3rd party, because the whole defeatist "a 3rd party candidate will never win" is only going to perpetuate that particular problem. They certainly won't win if we don't even try!

    1. I voted, but so wish I had gone 3rd party as well for the same reasons. 2016, baby.

I'm with you on 1, 3 and 4. IM was awesome growing up, but social
media now is too prevalent and evasive, and bugs are gross.

  6. Yeah, there's no amount in this world you could offer to take Hawkeye away from me!
I vote, but you could probably pay me not to. I vote Republican in Chicago. It's pretty much worthless. I do it anyway, religiously, but yes, there's a price I'd probably settle for not to!

  7. Ugh I definitely wouldn't want to be a kid or teen nowadays- too much pressure, too much social media, just too much everything!

  8. I wouldnt want to do any of these things either.
At home, you get fined if you don't vote. I have to write a letter every single time there is an election saying I am overseas, please don't fine me. I cannot believe it's not mandatory here, or worse, I cannot believe some people don't vote. Breaks my heart that they don't care enough. My husband refuses to vote, it annoys the shit out of me. In KY he thinks his vote will never count, and I'm like don't you see? If everyone like you refuses to vote it will never change. One day I will convince him. I hope.

  9. All of those, plus compete in any sort of obstacle course that involves agility or upper body strength, skydive, and give up books or music.

  10. Eat bugs. For sure. That always makes me cringe on like reality shows or whatever.

Also? Skydiving/bungee jumping. Nope. No thanks.

  11. Yikes I tried rock climbing indoors though and that gave me a panic attack.. the height situation wasn't working for me.. Bugs gross, I don't know how people did that for money on that show whose name I do not remember. :) Have a great weekend Stephanie! -Iva

  12. I am with you on every single one of these things!!!! I would never want to be a teenage these days! Eating bugs? Nope! Or any of that other shit they have you eat on those weird shoes (ie - bull testicles.) And my dogs are my life. They aren't going anywhere!!!!

  13. Being a teenager was hard enough before social media. I don't think I would have survived nowadays.

  14. Rock climbing or anything high up like skydiving! My heart will just stop from being terrified. Happy Friday lady!

  15. Ughhh I feel awful for teenagers these days, all the distractions and the drama that must ensue from so many social media platforms. There was enough drama in highschool without people being all over social media.. no thanks!

  17. Speaking of this, I had curriculum night at my daughter's high school last night. I got 2 hours to live her schedule and walk from class to class. Hoofing it from one end of campus to the other with 6 min. between classes, no thanks. Would never want to go back to high school again!

  18. I am with you on eating bugs. I also don't want to sky dive!

  19. No not ever to bugs. I would just starve, lol. If I felt like a more coordinated individual I *may* consider rock climbing, but since I am not...heck no.

  20. You couldn't pay me to live in Sitka the rest of my life. Literally there is no amount of money that could entice me to live and die here.

I think I could eat a bug if the price was high enough...

  21. Just no, to bugs. You couldn't make me give up my pup, I mean a bought a house just for him.

  29. I would not vote against women's rights ever. I would not eat liver, bugs, or any of those things the Survivor people do.
I would not and could not be on Survivor. I will never give up my hair manes. I am sure there are more, but I am late to this game. Love your MOMMA

  30. I was just saying that I actually worry about bringing kids up in this day in age. As much as I love technology, I can't imagine a childhood unlike my own (hours outside playing).

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yes to all of the above...except maybe the bugs...I could possibly do that.
