TWTW - This weekend I...

1. Celebrated my brother Stephen's birthday poolside at my mom's.
2. Got a new vacuum.
3. Went to the Farmer's Market
4. Stared at my roses, which look awesome this year
5. Went to the Shook's Annual Barbecue. A beautiful day, excellent smoked and grilled items and other food and desserts, and a wide variety of homemade house brand Bulldog barbecue sauces. Delicious food, great hosts, fabulous weather and wonderful company.
6. Turned a white bookcase yellow with my homegirl: spray paint
7. Made greek orzo salad (recipe coming next week) for the barbecue, mini turkey meatloaves for lunches over arugula, and scrambled eggs with mushrooms/green onions/mozz cheese for breakfasts.
8. Spent a lot of time out back
9. Went to a Favorite Things party at Tara's hosted by Tara and Jen. It was nice to see some girls from high school and their friends (like Nicole, of course) that I see mostly on FB, and I loved the Favorite Things party concept. There were even raffles and door prizes, those ladies killed it. The food was all cute and looked perfect. Coincidentally, it included some of my favorite things, like Brother's Pizza, pigs in a blanket, veggies & dip, swedish fish, and cupcakes. I brought Not Your Mother's Dry Shampoo and The Body Shop Vitamin E Body Butter as my favorite things, both of which I've mentioned here before. I loved seeing what everyone put together and I'm excited to try what I left with to see if I get any new favorites out of my haul.
10. I popped into Homegoods for new sheets, shower curtain, glamorous hausfrauing gloves, and cooking items.
Not pictured:
Hausfrauing, reading, sleeping for 10 hours Saturday night, and Sunday dinner: london broil and veggies on the grill, corn on the cob and baked sweet potatoes.

On Mondays I'm doing a picture linkup with Kelli at She Crab Soup. If you'd like to participate, here are the prompts through July. This is my photo for the prompt Signs. I took a bunch at the shore last weekend for this specific purpose.
Have a great Monday.

  5. So how does a favorite things party work? Do you bring enough for everyone or does everybody swap stuff? Sounds fun!

I *still* haven't made it to the Farmer's Market this year (sheesh!) but I did go pick a crap-ton of strawberries from my aunt and uncle's garden this weekend. They are on vacation in Alaska and said to pick as many as I wanted -- score!

  6. I keep hearing about favorite things parties and I really want to host one - they sound fun! I also want a vacuum review (is that weird?) because I'm in the market for one... mine is at least eleven years old and it has no hoses to get the cat hair up and I'm ready to upgrade - I even asked for one as an anniversary gift. True old lady status right here...

  11. I bought that dry shampoo at your recommendation. No complaints so far, although I think I use it wrong.

We don't have a Homegoods around here. I don't know if that's good or bad. Congrats on the new vacuum!

  22. This post really tugged at my heart strings (and my stomach) when I saw the Mack & Manco's (I refuse to embrace Manco & Manco's). I should have participated in this one. I ADORE the concept of a Favorite Things party, I may have to steal that for a girls night out party. What a FANTASTIC idea! You look beautiful in the selfie of you and Maizel and you and MFD. So photogenic! I love you. That is all <3
