TWTW - Father's Day Edition

1. The new shower curtain made its debut.
2. Friday night glamour - groceries, pet store, leftovers, and food making. This taco dip is for Saturday.
3. My next two weekends are busy, so I made breakfast burritos with leftover frozen pork, eggs, cheese, black olives, salsa, and green onions. I froze them and now I don't need to worry about breakfasts.
4. Another batch of cold brewed iced coffee: started it Friday night and finished it Saturday afternoon.
5. MFD could go to the Farmer's Market with me this week - I usually go solo - so we walked since there were two of us to carry bags. It's a great way to start the day!
6. I used some of my market haul to make zucchini pie for breakfasts this week, and tuna for lunches.
7. My new vacuum is awesome on couches - post coming soon - these dogs are shedding like nobody's business.
8. Jimmy & Jackie's housewarming party with framily. We had our nephews overnight Saturday so they were there too!
9. Breakfast with MFD's parents and Mark for Father's Day.

10. Family-style chinese food, s'mores, and cheesecake at Dad & Carol's for Father's Day.

On Mondays I'm doing a picture linkup with Kelli at She Crab Soup. If you'd like to participate, here are the prompts through July. This is my photo for the prompt Dad. I might be biased, but mine is the best.
What a gorgeous weekend in the Philadelphia area, right? And SEPTA went on strike, but the government said hell no so I rode the train in this morning as usual.

Make your Monday a great one!

  4. We had family style Chinese food for father's day too. Much easier to feed a ton of people when no one has to cook, and it makes cleanup a whole lot easier!

  7. I love that the government said hell no! Also loving MFD's T-shirt and you sporting the CBus tee. :) Very fun shower curtain! Looks like a nice balanced weekend.

  8. How can the government prevent a strike? That might be a dumb question but in Texas there are very few unions so it isn't really a thing like it is up north. I will have to google this.

Love s'mores and have already told my mother we have to make some at her house while the nieces are in town. Mostly for me, but they can have some too, I suppose.

And I am waiting for the vacuum review. MFD is so good about posing for selfies with you - is there a secret you can pass on to me? Andrew is the worst.

  9. I wrap the entire pile of coffee in triple cheesecloth and tie it tightly before I put the water in. Then the next day I just squeeze it out. I still pour the coffee through a coffee filter to get the remnants, but it works great!

  14. We made cold brew this weekend to! Even though I'm not a huge coffee drinker it was really good and I enjoyed a cup on our drive to see P's parents. I'm really wanting to make your zucchini pie...maybe this weekend. We have not even been grocery shopping for the week yet...eek! I want s'mores now!

  15. That is a busy weekend indeed! I had the complete opposite and was highly unproductive - I napped 90% of my weekend and it was everything I thought it would be. Have a great one Stephanie! -Iva

  16. How does that work when the gov't refuses to let them strike? Is that a permanent fix? Oy. Your pic with your dad is great.

  17. New shower curtains are just as exciting as new vacuums. Do you have a favorite breakfast burrito flavor/ingredient list? Scott needs breakfast and lunch on the go again now that he's starting work!

  20. Looks like a wonderful weekend! I gotta say, having a good vacuum is NECESSARY when you have pets. Life-changing, even.

  21. Breakfast burritos are my favorite! I made a big batch awhile back so I could have them for breakfast every morning. I really like your new shower curtain. I keep thinking that when I move I should just get a new one since I've had my current one for 2 years.

  22. S'mores! I love them.

  23. My older son is at Grandma Camp next weekend and I'm so excited about being able to go to the Farmer's Market without having to worry about him running off! (Babies are so much more easily contained.) Thanks for the reminder about the zucchini pie!

  26. Delicious looking food, as always! I need to make some breakfast burritos. So good and so easy. I also eat them for lunch when I am lazy.

I got our house cleaned today with my Groupon...what the hell have I been waiting for? 3 people and the whole thing was cleaned in 90 minutes. I need this in my life on a regular basis.

No joke... I made a version of taco dip yesterday and ate almost the entire thing BY MYSELF. One of my favorite snacks!
I love the menu your Dad and Carol had. Mark me down for next year please.

  28. LOVE your new shower curtain. Adds a nice pop of color to your bathroom I bet!

I've been crazing s'mores like crazy and need to get some asap. I love them so much and usually only end up getting to make them once all summer. My brother has a fire pit so I need an invite over. haha
