TWTW - This weekend I...

1. Got mail from Sephora - the Sun Safety Kit (permanently out of stock online but available in stores under high demand, thank you VIB for getting me this early), Nars Lip Gloss in Orgasm, and Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint in Watermelon. And that order got me VIB status through 2015. Sephora problems, yo.
2. Let's follow glamour with glamour, shall we? I defrosted the antique downstairs freezer that came with the house. Defrosting a freezer was a first for me. Not an exciting first to mark down in the memory book, but a first nonetheless.
3. Perfectly executed errands like a boss on Saturday morning. I went to Home Depot. ACME (where I only bought green things, MFD's soda and zucchini), the bank, Sam's, Produce Junction, Wawa, and the Farmer's Market all before 11 a.m. on Saturday. Boom.
4. Planted most of the flowers. Today I will finish planting and mulch.
5. Went to Quinn's first birthday party.
6. Had dinner at Jones with Jill & Frank. Warning: the link will have music, like all Stephen Starr restaurant websites. Jones does comfort food Stephen Starr-style. It's good, but very rich. MFD and I had mac & cheese as an app and I had beef brisket in gravy with fabulous green beans and kasha bowties. They were just eh. This place serves freaking Tang. I also had a brownie sundae which was good but nothing spectacular.
7. Walked dinner off in Washington Square Park and stopped by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We like to walk around like tourists in our own town and read plaques by iPhone light. True story, we do this frequently. Along with taking selfies when I know it will be too dark. Hashtag YOLO.
8. Painted my nails with Julep Sydney and Jane (sparkles)
9. Made stuff.
A. Brownies made with liquified black beans instead of oil and eggs
B. Greek dressing for
C. Quinoa salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, and green olives.
D. Zucchini Pie (recipe post coming tomorrow)
E. Sunday dinner: homemade mushroom pizza from scratch and salad
F. Turkey meatloaf muffins to freeze - a set for us and a set for the Sannellis
G. Sunday dessert: rhubarb and raspberry crumble a la Martha Stewart

10. Not pictured: miscellaneous hausfrauing, headache battling, coffee drinking.

11. What you missed around here this weekend: Train Tales - How I know I need a day off.
FYI, ^^^ was my 601st blog post.

On Mondays I'm doing a picture linkup with Kelli at She Crab Soup. If you'd like to participate, here are the prompts through July. This is my photo for the prompt Reflections. It's a photo of a sand dune that hangs in my living room and the living room and front door reflected in it. I love reflections photos.
I took a day off today to get some stuff done, so peace out, cub scouts. Have a great Monday.

  1. Your nails and your flowers look great! Girl I have some defrosting freezer memories from growing up. My dad used to defrost our freezer on some Saturday nights when the ice was soo much the freezer could hardly close.... and boy was it ever a production every single time. I promised myself I would never get anything that needs defrosting. Ever.

  2. girlfriend: tell me everything you can about those self-tanners when you try them - which one gave you the best glow/bronzed look, which one to get/avoid etc. i'm looking for one. seriously, i have a bajillion sephora points (like close to 1500) and i wish they would let you redeem points for actual products instead of those stupid ones by the cash.

  4. The amount of stuff you got done before 11 am on a Saturday is amazing. I might have slept until 9:30, oops. How were the brownies with black beans? And I love that you're a tourist in your own town!

  5. You and your overachieverness with making stuff. I'm hungry now. Impressive. Also that dinner? Making me hungry.

  6. Ahhhh, just ordered a bunch of stuff from Sephora on Saturday! You will loooooove Orgasm lip gloss (if you've never had it before!) so neutral and goes with everything. The blush is fantastic, too! Your reflection picture is gorgeous! Enjoy your day off today <3

  7. I don't think I've ever seen your ring before... I love it! Solitaires are my absolute FAVORITE (which I have not so subtly made sure Pete knows, duh)!
Is that Nars gloss pretty good? I love the color but that ish be expaaaahnsahve.

  10. I love that you tour your town via iPhone light, that's sounds like something I'd enjoy doing.

I love your reflection picture, I thought it was looking out at window at the beach with the living room reflected in the window! Well done!

  11. Is Orgasm lip glass as universally flattering as the blush? I wish I would be more committed to wearing anything on my lips besides chapstick. Wow, all that done before 11am? You are a boss. I love being efficient too. Beautiful plantings! My favorite SS restaurant is El Vez. How I miss their guac and fish tacos. And great photo. It's like being on the beach. Mysterious. Calming.

  12. I was just in Philly on Friday/Saturday (for like...less than 24 hours)! I'm so envious of your gardening skills. I can't seem to manage to keep plants alive for more than a few days (how I am able to keep myself and all my animals alive is a real mystery). Enjoy your day off!

  13. Ohhh that sun kit looks fun! You will have to share your favorites with us! Also, is the Nars Orgasm lip gloss like the blush? Where it looks good on everyone? I need a new lip gloss and haven't committed to any colors yet.

Go you on all your planting. It rained a lot here this weekend so we got zero yard work done. Chris was really disappointed about it. As he smiled Saturday morning and said "Darn the grass is too wet. Oh well!"

Is Julep worth the extra $$?

  14. I have some Sephora gift cards to use and since I'm not a big makeup person they've been collecting dust. Going to check out the sun kit.

  18. Those monster cupcakes look tremendous, and just like that, I decided that I am making cupcakes tonight.

Your flowers are looking good. Our local meteorologist said today we are good to plant now, so hopefully I can tackle that this weekend. I am sending that bitch a bill for any dead plants if she is wrong!
