TWTW - Memorial Day Weekend consisted of...

Finishing my flowers. After four trips to Home Depot in six days, it's finished for real this time.
Hausfrauing top to bottom inside, and outside - cleaning off outdoor furniture and reorganizing the shed
Parkwood Farmer's Market
Visiting baby Eva
Lunch, a trip to The Christmas Tree Shoppe, pedicures, and getting the only thing I like at Panera with Debbie. I also dropped in on my parents on Saturday afternoon.
An awesome Sunday outside from 8 am - 8 pm
Including dinner with MFD and his parents - grilled chicken and veggies, hotdogs, macaroni salad, grilled pineapple, angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream
Making power breakfast muffins with strawberries instead of bananas, two sets of macaroni salad, and my first batch of iced coffee of the season.
Taking 498 pictures of my dogs
A covered bridge adventure in Bucks County - we saw the Frankenfield Covered Bridge and the Erwinna Covered Bridge, both in Tinicum. We took the long way home all along the river and it was a really nice afternoon in bucolic surroundings.
Not pictured: two glorious days in my house alone, lots of reading and laziness, ice cream sandwiches for dinner, and the wonder that is Petals on the Wind on Lifetime on Monday night, which I've been looking forward to for weeks. Did you watch?

What you missed this weekend: Sunscreen - you need it, My dog can tell time, and In observance: Memorial Day.

Tomorrow: monthly recommendations from Marcie at On the Needles, my BFF Laura, and me.

I hope you all had a glorious weekend. This week is busy for me, but only a three day-er work-wise. I'm heading to the shore for Girls' Weekend on Thursday night!

  8. I love covered bridges. Maybe when the husband is off in July and we don't have the child, we'll go exploring some in PA. Delaware doesn't have shit.

And there is no such thing as too many dog pictures. I'm pretty sure I take more pictures of my dogs and cat than I do my daughter.

  9. Wow what a perfect weekend! I feel a little guilty at how lazy I was but starting this week I am balls to the wall for the next month so I took that opportunity lol. Your flowers are inspiring me to go do some planting!!!

Saturday a nice wine tasting and dinner with framily and Sunday and Monday just wonderful pool days. Outdoors all day on both days. Smoker chicken wings and split chicken breasts were beyond delicious! Thanks to the universe for a glorious 3 day weekend.

  15. I have been craving Panera like no other. However when it's 90+ degrees out I just don't want to go eat soup & a sandwich. Maybe now that it's supposed to be rainy all week I'll go get some.

  16. I forgot to watch Petals in the Wind. So mad at myself! Luckily, I'm sure Lifetime or LMN will show it a hundred more times. Those flowers are VERY impressive.

  18. I love the covered bridge pictures, when I saw you were doing that this weekend I thought about how much fun that would be!

I'd give anything for 2 whole days home alone in the peace and quiet.

  19. I watched the petals in the wind movie. I had to watch flowers in the attic first because i missed it it the first time it came on. It was really good but i was disappointed with heather graham, she sounded like she had the script in front of her reading it line for line and normally i like her acting.

  21. My hausfrauing this weekend would have made you proud. And I know I say it EVERY TIME, but still jealous of your flower beds.

  22. The flowers look great! I am glad I am not the only one who needs 17 trips to the store to get everything. Planning and buying all the flowers at once is overwhelming. I planted a bunch of perennials last year to minimize how much I had to plant this year and so far it seems to be working out.

The macaroni salad looks delicious; have you ever shared that recipe on here? I was just thinking the other day that I was hungry for it.

  23. Your flowers look great, Steph! I don't know if I will ever have a green thumb, but if I ever do I hope they look as bright and pretty as yours.

  24. Your flowers are gorgeous!!!! And grilling, site seeing and Lifetime movies...YES!! As much as I LOVED our weekend, yours sounded glorious!!

  25. Bahahah... I love Eva's face in that solo shot... she be all like "DAFUQ you want?!"

  26. You had a GREAT weekend! Those strawberries look fabulous! I can't wait until our local berries are ready. If the rest of your summer is as good as MDW, you're in for a great time. :-) Great job with the flowers!

  28. Whoa! Sounds like you had a pretty kick-ass weekend! So jealous of your flowers! I'm currently trying my hand at gardening again, and I think this time the plant will make it - it's a palm tree and I live on an island, so hopefully even my black thumbs can't screw this one up.
