Oh, Mexico...the sun's so hot I forgot to go home.

Here's a big photo dump of my Mexico photos from this weekend. The Devil is still commandeering my bowels. And the pics can mostly speak for themselves anyway.

We traveled to Riviera Maya for the wedding of one of my oldest friends. MFD and I headed to Laura & Chris's house on Thursday night and flew out of Newark Friday morning. We were supposed to return Monday but due to weather we extended and returned Tuesday.

Yes yes, shut up and share the photos.

Our room wasn't ready for over an hour after check-in. I threatened to stage a big loud scene in the lobby, so we scored a sweet upgrade to a suite with two baths, which was really fortunate on the night MFD got quite ill from squid ink risotto. The hotel's front desk is not getting a good review from me on Trip Advisor. They also put Kim through hell with wedding guest reservations. All of the other employees were super nice and friendly.
Friday night wedding BBQ on the sand in a little glade under a big string of lights. It was so nice to sit outside, enjoy some wine and the company of friends, and be amid wedding excitement without wearing a coat.
Wedding Saturday: Congratulations Kim & Esteban, wishing you much happiness! Kim looked gorgeous. The ceremony was lovely and the pre- and post-party were lots of fun in front of a beautiful backdrop of scenery.
It was nice to be in the same place as my friends for a weekend. We're all busy and we live far, so it was great to spend quality time together. I've known most of these girls for 24 years, and MFD has too. These kinds of friendships entrench themselves in your bones for good.
And it was nice to get a ton of time with MFD too.
We got up and watched the sun rise over the ocean every morning, which we love to do on vacation.
Otherwise, you could find me at my Command Center. There are few things more perfect than laying in a bed on the beach.
Misc...
It was wonderful to celebrate the wedding of a dear friend in a warm place.

Jana is here tomorrow for The Friday Five, and Kerry is talking about dog love on Saturday. Don't miss out. You'll be very sad.

Next week I'm back full steam, both reading blogs and writing them. Ciao bellas. Pssst....have you entered my Birthday Month Giveaway?

  18. I never eat new and adventurous things while I'm on vacation for fear of food poisoning. I know - another one of my issues. Extremely jealous of a bed on the beach - I've never seen that before! Hope you feel better soon.

  19. That looks like the best trip. I want one of those bed/cabana/tent things. THAT'S what's always missing when I go to the beach…I need to frequent resorts I suppose…

  20. I've stayed on the beach plenty, but OMG that bed with the sheets blowing in the breeze looks amazing and much better than our standard cabana!
