TWTW

Last week was a total douche. Everything that could go wrong did, shit was stressful, people were assholes, and I had insomnia and anxiety by Thursday night. I was certainly ready for a weekend. It was a good mix of social and productive; and I used Sunday's solitude to get my shit together for the upcoming week.
Friday MFD & I walked los perros then headed back downtown to have cocktails with Chris & Diana at Tir Na Nog. We met the Sannellis and Leslies at Maggiano's for a fabulous family-style meal. I love my framily. I also love being a tourist in my own town. I do not love being out for the evening with a dead camera battery.
1- Banana chocolate chip muffins. Check back tomorrow for the recipe, son.
2 - Stuffed cabbage casserole. This was easy and delicious comfort food.
Coach Bingo. No winning, but a fun night nonetheless. And I got to wear my newest scarf even though this is not a flattering photo of it or me.
You know what's a bastard chore? Winterizing flower beds. I spent almost two hours on it, and it's still not done. I was two bags of mulch short as you can see. I also ran out of yard bags so I still need to pull my potted flowers too. Still, a good dent. And my yellow door still makes me happy every single time I pull up to my house.

Then, it happened. I started. A new obsession has been born. Those Sons are bad MFers! Charlie Hunnam, call me.
Laundry, serenity, iced tea, Sunday Soup, fresh bread, and Sunday dinner happened too. But nothing in life is as important as Sons of Anarchy. Ok?
1 - This week's breakfast is egg salad, made while watching SoA.
2 - I love roasting a chicken for Sunday dinner. I feel Ina Garten-ish.
3 - Cauliflower mashed - so easy and good. I just add 2 oz of light cream cheese, a tablespoon of butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper to taste.
5 - Gus and Maisel (Maisel is the black speck).
6 - Cauliflower sweet potato soup for this week's lunches. Not bad, not my favorite.
7 - Geege and Maisel.

I closed the kitchen for the night when this happened. Three scavenger dogs were attempting to infiltrate the scene while I screamed like a banshee for them to get away.
What about you?

  10. I haven't watched SOA yet, I feel like I'll get sucked in and marathon watch it so I need time.
I didn't even know winterizing flower beds was a thing. Glad I'm not a homeowner.
I need to make mashed cauliflower because mashed potatoes are my favorite but of course it's bad to eat them as much as I'd like to!
Hawkeye sprints away if anything falls in the kitchen, thank goodness. She doesn't even come close.

  11. You have to winterize stuff? Oops. Maybe that is why my yard always looks like shit. My bad! My dogs are constantly on the look out for dropage, as they see it as the prime opportunity to find food they would have been otherwise denied.

  12. I LOVE SOA!!! It is one of the greatest shows of all time, and it makes me sad for myself that I waited so long to watch it. But now that I am, I can't stop.

My weekend was stellar. Spent it at a conference. Met many amazing new people, saw lots of old friends. Drank Guinness like water. Best weekend in a long time.

  13. I keep hearing about how good Sons of Anarchy is, but haven't started watching...yet.

I do a cauliflower dish with smashed cauliflower (not fully mashed, because that is too much work), cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar, and parmesan. Steam the cauliflower, smash it, mix all that shit together, then bake it until everything is melted. It is amazing. I want some right now. I wish the leftovers didn't stink up my refrigerator.

  14. Love SOA!!! So glad you are joining in on the fun! I am going to come visit and then steal Maisel. So stinkin cute! Teach me your gardening ways! I can keep my house plants alive but outside plants not so much.

  17. YAY FOR SOA! I am glad that you found time to start it! I am behind a season but I bought it on Amazon because I had this grand plan to watch it all in a week and then start the current season. I am failing miserably.

Mashed cauliflower is my frenemy. Last time I added way too much liquid and it turned out like grits practically. Maybe I should measure? Nahhhhh.
