Summer Things: To Do List

Home
Touch up the freaking paint on my bedroom ceiling. This was on my spring to do list and didn't get done, so it's numero uno on this flipping list.
Keep flowers alive.

Health
Follow fitness regimen I set up.
No sweets during the week unless I'm on vacation or it's a jolly holiday.
Finish the freaking squat challenge already.

Challenge
Go vegetarian for two weeks. Edited to add for no real reason, except that I LOVE MEAT. Meat is my life. I want to see if I can do it.

Entertainment
See one Saturday morning movie.

Cooking Things
Make sorbet.
Make french baguettes.

Celebrate
I know you're aware that Laura, Kim, and Kim are all engaged and getting married by next July.

Wednesday night one of my favorite people on earth, my brother Stephen, asked his fabulous long-time (11 years!) girlfriend Aubrey to marry him, and she said yes. Aubrey is already a part of our family and I love her like a sister, but it will be lovely to see them make it official and to enjoy the festivities that come along with it. Congratulations Stephen and Aubrey, I love you both!

Happy birthday eve to Kimmy Foo Foo too. Check back here on Wednesday for more from her.

What's on your summer bucket list?

Wear your sunscreen this weekend, kids.

Do you meal plan? Link your blog up on Tuesday with me and Nichole at Casa de Crews! If you don't have a blog, send me your info and pics if you have them and I'll feature you here! Check out Nichole's post on Casa de Crews for more info.

  3. I've been a pescatarian (I guess that's what you are when you'll eat seafood from time to time) for two weeks now, and it's not difficult at all. I've only eaten fish three times. I think if I gave it some more time and effort, I could go full vegetarian pretty easily, but for now, I like knowing I can fall back on fish when I'm tired of beans.

  4. Wow Steph, what is the reason behind going no meat for 2 weeks? Have you tried this before?

When you made sorbet, please be sure to invite me over for a taste test.

CONGRATS to Stephen, Aubrey and your family! Exciting news!!!!!!!!!

  8. 11 years?!? Well congratulations to them :-)

My summer bucket list is to do nothing. Last summer was such a shitshow and I want to relax this year. Oh and also get my ass back to the gym. Maybe. We shall see.

    Happy Friday!

I can't even comprehend making a summer to do list right now. Or maybe ever.

  10. Summer bucket list: visit Newport I - I have only been once a long long time ago, Cape as much as possible, fireworks, campfires and s'mores, long walks (need to train for 50 mile MS walk), drinks out on the patio at restaurants. . . and more but that is what I can think of right now.

  12. Looks like a pretty great list there...except the painting. That doesn't sound fun ;)

A few years ago my New Year's Resolution was to give up meet. I did it for a full year, then incorporated chicken and fish, but no beef or pork for almost 3 years. I got really fat because I ate pasta and Mexican food only haha!

  13. Vegetarian for 2 weeks?!?! You can TOTALLY do that. I tried for 30 days and never went back. If you need any recipe ideas, let me know. Happy Friday!

  15. @ Laura - I cannot see the word beans without chanting the beans beans good for your heart chant...probably why I'm not a big bean eater? hahahah

  16. I will be interested to see how 2 weeks without meat goes! I don't even know what I would cook. We would probably eat macaroni and cheese and peanut butter and jelly every day.

My summer to-do list is already way too full for my liking!

  17. I love that your list has both practical and fun things on it. For sorbet would you need an ice cream maker?

  18. My summer bucket list is just to survive. Also to sell our house and find a new one because I don't think homeless is a good look on me.

Other than that, I plan to finish (okay, fine. Start) my book proposal, lose 20 lbs by August, make the salad (read: no cook)recipes I pin, get down to DC with the child, and avoid getting sunburned.

  19. I just want to get to the beach at some point... that's one of my main goals!
