This weekend was sponsored by coffee

1. MFD won 90s Trivial Pursuit.
2. I sank all the ships.
3. Gus channeled Yoda. Or ET.

Misc: we watched Chopped Champions. I'm so happy Jun Tanaka won.

1. My first of four cups of coffee. Which meant that even though I was dead on my feet, I was up at 12:30 googling "Why is Jay-Z called Hova."
2. I took some roast beast and scrambled it with eggs and cheese. Boom.
3. Ipsy arrival!
4. Front yard work-it took me more than three hours to clean up that one bed, replant perennials, and plant some new stuff.
5. My dad put the base for my laundry contraption in. Thanks Dad!
6. Carol sent veggie pizza. We had it for lunch, and a snack later. I'm also having it for lunch this week. It's one of my favorite foods. Thanks Carol!
7. A few new perennials, annuals, and herbs.
8. Lori and I hit Target.
9. Roast beef at Sandy's - I was the DD for my day drinking brother and his friends. Lori, MFD, Aubrey and I met up with them for a late dinner.

Misc: My lily of the valley never flowers, and my Grandmom's always thrived so we discussed it every spring. This is the first year she wasn't here, and the first year it flowered. Thanks Grandmom!

1. The flip flop mat went to the back door. I got this awesome colorful one at Target.
2. Flowers, veggies and fruit from an early morning Produce Junction trip.
3. Cross body polka dot purse on clearance and much needed new ankle socks = fruit of the Target tree.
4. Lovely spring.
5. The result of 3+ hours doing yard work, shed cleaning and general clean up out back. The girl who hates taking the trash out took it out, y'all.
6. My boys loved being outside all day.

Misc: My boys also got a bath, had a long walk with Treat Lady, and had their dinner topped off with leftover pork from a Sandy's cuban. It was the best day ever for them. Except for the bath.

1. Pepperoni Pizza Puffs - these were so simple and so awesome. 3/4 cup flour, 3/4 teaspoon baking powder, 3/4 cup whole milk, 1 egg, lightlybeaten, 1 cup shredded cheese, 1 cup cubed pepperoni, pizza sauce for dipping. Preheat oven to 350 and grease a 24 cup mini muffin pan. In large bowl, whisk together the flour and bakingpowder; whisk in the milk and egg. Stir in the mozzarella and pepperoni; letstand for 10 minutes. Stir the batter and divide among the mini-muffincups. Bake until puffed and golden, 20 to 25 minutes. Microwave the pizza sauce until warmed through.
2. I've been lacking in cucumbers lately.
3. Trying something new for vegetables throughout the week at work: asparagus. I will steam it there with some white wine vinegar.
4. I only cut strawberries up to two days ahead. Any more and I think they get weird.
5. Banana split cake, recipe courtesy of Jennifer Spera Commale. The recipe is in the comments. I can also email it to you!.

Sunday night was watching TV until 9:30, painting my nails and being so worn out that I didn't even feel like talking or breathing.

I'd like to say huge thank you to Lori, my aunt and also one of my best friends. This is the second time she's come down from three hours away since MFD has been out of commission just to help me. She cleaned the inside of my house and saw to the dog walks so I could concentrate on the outside, helped me bathe the dogs so they didn't stink anymore, and was my side kick on errands and outings. I am so grateful to have such a generous and loving spirit in my life. Everyone should have a Lori.

This week: the forecast looks lovely, I'm getting the grays eradicated from my hair, I have a Relay For Life meeting, I don't have to think about taxes until next year, I have to come clean to you on my most recent spending freeze (tomorrow!), and it's cousin Gail's birthday week. Let's make it a good one friends!

  9. Yay, Treat Lady!

I need a new welcome mat but I need a BIG one or else it looks dumb because of how big our entry is. And it has to be kind of heavy or the wind will blow it away.

Love that your lily of the valley flowered!

  11. I definitely need someone to come and clean my house and take care of my idiot dogs.

Totally bought that door mat at Target as well, however, do not have any flowers to match it.

HOWEVER, it is 60 here today. I may be blinding the world with my pasty white legs.
