the birthday weekend that was

Three day birthday weekend, holler at me! Are you following me on Bloglovin? If you're not, please do!

A pedicure (OPI Senorita Rosalita) and eyebrow wax on the way home, a visit from Evan, a very processed dinner of neon orange mac and cheese and Ellio's, Hell's Kitchen, reading Insurgent late into the night.

Massage. It's the perfect way to start your morning.

I stopped at Michael's for more frames for the Gallery Wall. And pretended to be a Maxxinista at TJ Maxx - candle, mug (as if I need more, but I can't help it, I love them), and gardening gloves for me; new food bowls for the dogs; cologne for MFD. Gifts for all!

Awesome blog from my long-time fabulous friend Gwen at Confessions of a Gila Monster, and a song from the talented Angi at Into the Forest Dim. Plus a book from Mrs. G and a Sephora gift card from Misty in the mail!

I came home to flowers (delivery), an awesome cake, a red velvet cupcake, and a red rose (thank you John Evans for hooking MFD up on your day off!).

Lunch at Las Margaritas. Ole. Drinks below. I always roll with a lot of drinks. Hydration is important:

The best nachos on the planet. Between these and the drinks, we didn't even eat our meals. They became dinner.
After lunch = happy happy happy. And lay down time. And me looking like a serial killer on the left, which Laura pointed out and which is definitely true. Serial killer look to match serial killer handwriting, y'all. Did you know that serial killer is a searchable tag on this blog? Truth. Put it in the search box on the left.
I hausfraued like a pro, cleaning the main floor and the top floor. I know, I know, cleaning on my birthday, WTF. I wouldn't enjoy the rest of my weekend in squalor, so it had to be done.

Birthday bonuses: an awesome sunset, a clean house, and a trip to Sam's so MFD could ride in a jazzy. That's seriously what I wanted for my birthday, to see him ride in a jazzy. It was hilarious. We laughed the entire time.

A lovely nine hour sleep followed by coffee in my new mug. I love it.

Lunch at Mom's with some of my ladies.
Thanks Mom for hosting and putting out a nice spread,
and thanks Mom & Rich for the daffodils and the cash.
Notice I again have three drinks at once.

Couch time after that! Jill and Frank came over at night bearing a MAC giftcard for my birthday, candy for the invalid, and dip. We played Yamslam and had bagel bites, onion dip, pepperoni dip (1 block of cream cheese, softened; 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1/2 lb pepperoni diced small - I do mine in the food processor. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes, serve with wheat thins.), and baked potato dip served with potato chips - I was missing green onions, which really would've made this sing. Next time I might try baking and serving as a hot dip.
Coffee, blog reading, thinking of my Grandmom on her birthday, silly dogs:
Sunday shopping: KCups from Bed, Bath & Beyond; a 3/4 sleeve v-neck white t, easy breezy black tank dress, springy table runner, and travel bag from Marshalls.
Lounging, laundry, trash and recycle duties - hate!

Food prep: savory oatmeal for breakfast, tuna for lunch, carrots/strawberries/celery/hard boiled eggs/grape tomatoes.

Dinner - Guinness roasted corned beef & cabbage. Mom, Rich, and Debbie joined us. I sported my new Irish themed Ferko sweatshirt, a birthday gift from Shawn & Maggie.
Then I collapsed on the couch in exhaustion. MFD is getting around better, but being on crutches can't even carry a cup or a plate himself. It's very tiring doing everything.

It was a great birthday weekend, my only wish is for one more day to lay on the couch and do absolutely nahsing. I have a busy week ahead.

Cheers to everyone for the birthday wishes. They were awesome and much appreciated.
