Sayonara, Thursday Thoughts

source: mottodistribution.com
If you're a regular reader, you know my weekly Thursday Thoughts post is a brain dump for my random thoughts. I'm switching things up going forward. My erratic and unrelated thoughts will now be found in the Haphazard Wednesday post. Don't you like the word haphazard? I do. It would be easier to call it Random Wednesday, but for some reason that word doesn't sit well with me. Logophile problems.

Last Thursday Thoughts, let's do this. Let's get wild and crazy and change shit up in 2013!

Item one: it is SO.COLD. today. SOCOLD SOCOLD SOCOLD.

Today is the birthday of my lovely BFF Laura. Happy birthday Laura!

My OCD self was delighted to receive these organizational tools. I saw them on a blog (was it yours? let me know and I'll link you) and had to buy them from Lifes a Journal on Etsy. Don't worry, I bought them in 2012 so I haven't violated my personal spending freeze. One is for daily life, and I can track work and personal To Dos, what I'm eating, water I'm drinking, etc. The other one is a blog planner. Fabulosity.

With the holidays and my Grandmom dying, I had 11 days off in a row. Coming back to work yesterday wrecked me. Damn near killed me. I'm a creature of habit and I crave routine, so it'll be good to get back. As soon as I recover from New Year's Day. This was the first time I've worked on January 2 in eternity. At least eight years.

Some of the food from NYD:

1. Pasta parmesan with chicken and broccoli 2. Buffalo chicken dip 3. Rigatoni and homemade sauce 4. Spicy sausage and cheese tarts 5. King's Hawaiian Rolls are a staple at our house

Pasta parmesan recipe:

1 lb pasta
Olive oil, garlic salt, salt, pepper
1.5 sticks butter
About 1/2 cup flour
1.5C parmesan cheese
1.5C milk

Cook pasta. Drizzle with oil, season with salt, pepper, garlic salt.

Melt butter over medium. Whisk in flour. Add milk and stir thoroughly until thickened. Don’t let it boil. Remove and whisk in parmesan cheese. Pour over pasta and mix well. Add steamed broccoli and chicken (I baked my chicken and cut it up the day before). BOOM.

E-card of the week:

Next Thursday in this spot I'm trying something new, an It's not okay... post. That should be fun and snarky. Ciao!

  2. LOVE haphazard! And can't wait for it's not ok. I must get back to blogging; maybe a schedule would keep me on target - hmmm. Will have to start planning. Maybe I'll have a buffoonery day - that could be fun.

  3. I LOOOOOVE new planners!!! Getting my new one each year is like a sporting event. I keep trying to convert to using my iPhone, but I'm old school, and prefer paper and pen. Maybe I need to purchase a blog planner... that sounds pretty groovy.
