Thursday Thoughts, Frazzled Version

Hello friends. Grandmom is still in hospice, unresponsive since Saturday night. My mind is all over the place this week, as are my emotions. The combination of the two does not typically make for good blogging., especially the week before Christmas when everyone is merry and bright. I don't want to pee on anyone's Christmas tree by not being captivated by the season right now. I thought a Thursday Thoughts post was a safe bet - it has no rhyme or reason anyway. Consider this an extra frazzled version completely void of non sequiturs. I hope I'll be back on my game soon.

The winner of the largest holiday gift box-size wise we've received at my company. Monster:

GOSSIP GIRL FINALE SPOILER! I'm happy knowing that somewhere in the nonexistent Gossip Girl future, there's a little Bass running around. Humphrey as Gossip Girl? Hmm. Anyway, thanks for the six years of shenanigans, GG.

Current needs: new sneakers, black flats, a super moisturizing body wash. Any recommendations on the body wash? I'm leaning towards Ahava but I can be swayed.

I just finished Penelope. I struggled through it because of the author's weird use or non-use of contractions. I found it stilted. I know that was part of the point, but I didn't love it.

I started this book last night, and only got about 30 pages in before I had to go to sleep. It's captured my attention immediately. I feel like it's going to be a good one.

Last night I drove home for 15 minutes behind a jeep with a silver ball sack dangling from its undercarriage (do you see what I did there?). Douchebaggery is alive and well on Street Road. In one thought I managed to use ball sack, undercarriage and douchebaggery. I feel like Austin Powers, the R version.

The world is not ending tomorrow, but if we weren't going through a tough time in my family, I'd absolutely be having an Apocalypse Party. I do so love a theme party. Thanks to George Takei for this gem:

Ever since I typed the world will not end tomorrow, I've had the sun'll come out, tomorrow in my head. This is the sun coming out from the train platform this morning.

Ecard of the week from Col's FB:

WOLVERINES! (Red Dawn should never be re-made. Just like Footloose) Peace out.

  1. I used this last winter, and it kept me v. moisturized. I usually use Bliss shower gel, but it doesn't do the job when it's very cold.

    1. Sweet rec. I can stroll over to Sephora at lunch.

  2. Oh, that e-card is awesome!

The original Red Dawn came out when I was in high school, and by the way, our mascot was the Wolverine! I can't bring myself to watch the remake. No offense, Chris Hemsworth, but you are no Patrick Swayze.

  3. I LOVE the huge Whitman's Sampler - we used to get a little one in our stocking every year. I secretly hope I get one from my parents this year (fingers crossed!). I hate truck balls...or in your case, Jeep balls. Just terrible. I loved the picture of the sun rising - I do miss that from when I used to take the train. I also love the e-card.

  4. thinking of you and your family right now.

And as a complete subject changer--truck balls are the worst. THE WORST.

  5. I giggle at truck balls...just saying...Eric Det

  6. Hooray for the Whitman's Sampler! I used to buy that for my grandmother every year. In fact, I still catch myself stopping to buy it ever Christmas! Enjoy!

  7. That e-card is fantastic, I'm a fan! Thank goodness for the GG ending. I would have had a fit if there was no Blair/Chuck happily ever after. I was leaning towards Dan since it had to be one of them, but I still don't know how I feel about it. I hate when shows end, I feel like a part of my life is over.

  8. You know what works wonders? Slather on baby oil straight out of the shower before you dry off, rub it in a little with the water beads, and then towel off. Moisturized skin fo realz. I got nothin as far as moisturizing body wash. The Neutrogena body oil body wash is supposed to be good I think.
    Still sending happies your way.

  9. I was morbidly curious about the new Footloose, so I watched it the other day on Netflix. Rather, I watched about 2/3rds of it before I just couldn't handle it anymore. Can't even hold a candle to the original. Why do they just have to remake EVERYTHING!?

  10. Thinking about you and your family - LOVE that eCARD SO much! I'm in the market for a new book - might check that one out!

  11. I've seen both the silver and the bronze truck balls. I hate them. The silver ones were on a Raiders themed truck (all black and silver). I don't want to live on this planet any more.

  12. I'm sorry about your Grandmom :(

Seriously, thank you for posting that the Gossip Girl blurb was a spoiler...I almost read it! Oh the tragedy that would have been

  13. Hey sweets. I'm very sorry to hear about your Grandmom, your fam is in my prayers. I can only hope that she is pain free and at peace.

And I have to say, I am so very proud for the use of ball sack (that's your nut sack! a little P&S humor for ya) undercarriage and douchebaggary. I don't get those dumb ass dangly ballsacks either. What the hell is the point??

  14. So sorry to hear about your grandma. I hope her time left with you is with peace and love.

  15. I have never written that there is a threat of fascism in America. I always considered the idea overwrought. But now I believe there really is such a threat - and it will come draped not in an American flag, but in the name of tolerance and health. Essential oil Diffuser judge

  16. thanks for this awesome web page, i like it because the article is very unique and easy to understand. inada massage chair
