Hello, Liebster.

In the past few weeks, I've gotten a little more active in the blogging community via link ups, following some blogs I wasn't following before, and commenting more instead of just reading and moving on.

One of those blogs is Luck Fupus, and its writer Marla was nominated for a Liebster Award. One of the things about Liebster is that you pay it forward to your fellow bloggers, and Marla (a Philly girl) was nice enough to nominate me. Thank you so much Marla!

I know, I know. What the hell is a Liebster?

The Liebster Award is given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. Rules for the recipient:
  1. Each blogger should post 11 random facts about themselves
  2. Answer the questions the tagger has set for you, then create 11 new questions for the bloggers you pass the award to.
  3. Choose 11 bloggers (with less than 200 followers) to pass the award to and link them to your post
  4. Go to their page and tell them about the award
  5. No tag backs!
So here goes:

11 Random Facts About Me

1. I never go anywhere without a drink - it's always next to me in the house, and I always have one on my person while running errands.
2. Clean sheets are my favorite small pleasure (and I just put some fresh ones on).
3. Going anywhere with visibly chipped nails makes me feel like a street person.
4. I like coffee more every day. And I love it already.
5. I'd rather cook than bake.
6. I could watch Dirty Dancing every day and never get sick of it.
7. I treat my two pugs like kings.
8. I read every day, and just can't transition to an e-reader.
9. My favorite color is purple.
10. I love to be productive and cross things off of my to do list.
11. My husband and I have been friends since we were 13. We're 35.

Marla's Questions

1. What 80's sitcom theme song would be the theme song for your life? (mine is Small Wonder!)
Facts of Life - you take the good you take the bad, you take 'em both and there you have the facts of life
2. Guilty pleasure?
That I don't consider any of my pleasures guilty.
3. PC or Mac?
PC
4. If you could pack up, move and restart your life anywhere in the world, where and why?
On the beach in Strathmere, NJ. The beach is a fine place to come to terms with the universe, and Strathmere is a sleepy little town that makes me feel serene.
5. Best gift you have ever received (NOT counting engagement ring, married/engaged ladies!)
I really love handmade gifts. I treasure the ones from my Mom Mom, and I'm laying under the quilt Lori made me right now.
6. What is your worst personality trait? Be honest, no one is perfect.
I have no patience, and my first instinct when dealing with a "poor me" person who plays the victim is to snarl at them. Like Sweet Brown says, ain't nobody got time for that.
7. Who is your "Hall Pass?"
Clive Owen.
8. Hidden Talent?
Crafting funny haiku
9. NATURAL hair color?
Brown
10. What reality show would you like to be on?
The Challenge
11. Favorite blog post and please share the link!
The Bloggess - Beyonce.

7. Cynthia at Living in Neverland
8. Beth at The Life of Bee (another local girl)
9. Michelle at Peggy & Bea

My Very Important Questions for these bloggers:

1. What is the beauty product you use that you recommend to everyone and anyone?
2. Preferred dessert?
3. What's your favorite meal to prepare?
4. If you could be a character in any movie, who would it be?
5. Where did you go on your last vacation?
6. Silver or gold jewelry?
7. Your favorite restaurant/
8. Do you subscribe to magazines? How many?
9. What's your favorite season?
10. What show do you look forward to every week?
11. If you had an unlimited account funded by a mystery millionaire to use at one store, which store would it be?

Thanks for playing, y'all. And Marla thanks again for the nomination!

East coasters, batten down your hatches and stay safe.

  1. Great blog, congratulations on the nomination! As a fellow avid reader I'd like to encourage you to give an e-reader a chance. I love books, I love having, holding and flipping through the pages of books. That being said, I got very tired of carrying 2 books around whenever I got to the last 80 pages of a book and I knew I'd finish it during the day while I'm traveling around the city. I went on vacation 2 years ago and I had to bring 4 books with me. Now I have 100 or so books at the ready (mostly new, unread but also a few of my favorites in case I'm ever in the mood to reread them). Good luck and if you haven't read them, try Watership Down by Richard Adams (best book ever written about rabbits) or Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

    1. I am putting Watership Down on my list, I can't believe I haven't read it.

I'm requesting it from the library right now, because that's how I roll. hahaha

  2. I'm with PJ about the e-reader! I always thought I would haaatte reading on an e-reader, I love being able to flip back to something quick, and nothing beats the feel of actual pages (maybe only us book nerds cherish that feeling?) But for Christmas last year I caved and got a Kindle and I LOVE it! it's so much more convenient to travel with. If you really intend to use it for reading, please please please stick with one that reads like real paper, so much easier on the eyes!

And I love the bloggess! Have you read her book? It literally had me laughing out loud, my boyfriend would look at me like I was nuts!

(And thanks again for the nomination! Your questions look fun, I'm excited to answer them!)

  6. I have an e-reader, and I've tried many times...you guys, it's not working. It makes me feel sad inside. hahaha

Then again, you're all talking to a girl who still goes to the library.
