Thursday Thoughts

Sitting on the runway waiting for some mechanical checkup on your plane seems like a good time to blog. I just inserted a photo, I think? I've never blogged straight from the phone before. Whee.

I wish I didn't stop watching Parenthood a few seasons back. I watched it the other night and was glued to the screen. I might just pick it up again. When can I have dinner in the parents' backyard?

My neighbor Jamie put out a call on FB for light face makeup suggestions and Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer was a popular answer, so she's trying it and i decided to also. Debbie has used it for a while and loves it so i have high hopes. Look at me! I'm all grown up, trying face makeup. Yesterday was my first day wearing it and I have to say, it was pretty awesome.

I'm on vacation! Right now. Today. And every day until October 1. Giddyup.

Who else has a compulsion to clean their house top to bottom before they leave for a trip? I know it's not just me.

We left the house three hours ago and I already miss my dogs. Thank you to our it takes a village dog crew: Effing Warren for staying at our house, and Mom, Michelle and our neighbor Tony for mid-day duties.

MFD loves SkyMall catalogs. He's annoyed that since we just flew at the end of July, he's already seen this one. Traveling people problems, yo.

I got about three hours of sleep since MFD is a night before vacation packer...he started packing at midnight. We woke up at 4:30. Even though I'm bad at math I know that equals doom in the sleep department.

Sayonara, friends. Fingers crossed this plane gets going soon. We're already 20 minutes late and still at the gate.

  1. Ah, the joys of sitting on the runway at the Philly airport! I know them well. Godspeed, my friend! Have a blast. And tell MFD I understand his pain re: onboard magazines.

  2. Coming home to a clean house makes the pre-cleaning well worth the trouble! Have a great time!

  3. I always ALWAYS clean before I leave on vacation...except before my honeymoon and we spent the entire morning, the day after we came home, cleaning. When you come home, all you want is a clean house to relax in... YOU ARE NOT ALONE :) Safe travels!

  4. Ah, the face makeup! I had used it for YEARS, now at 56, I do only sometimes.
What I SLATHER on my face, neck, and decolletage(spelling?)is Banana Boat SPF 50 sundblock -every.single.day.!!! Live and learn, girls!!!
    Glad you landed safely!
    Godspeed for a beautiful vacation.

    Love your non-traveling unless necessary--MOMMA
