The shore weekend that was

Hello, Strathmere
+

Getting ready to go away for the weekend requires effort.
I'm always exhausted before we leave. And I miss my boys in advance.

Saturday, we were on the beach by 11:30.

+

I enjoyed this book. It's well written.

+

Rained off the beach by 2.
MFD and Fronk went to Sea Isle to get beer, making a pit stop at The Carousel.
I had my trusty red wine, but Amanda was beer-less.
We slogged over to Twistie's, getting underwear deep soaked in the monsoon.
Drenched drinks with The Drifters as background music. Dig it.

We walked through this...
up to here...
to get this
+

Back at the hotel, we made the most of the storm, carousing on Ocean Drive in our bathing suits, laughing our asses off, and drinking booze.

+

Dinner and more drinks at Twistie's, then early to bed. Drinking for seven hours is tiring.

Cheez-Its were found in the bathroom.
I don't have an answer for this.
+

I forced myself to stay in bed until 8. We hit Uncle Bill's for a huge breakfast.

+

Turkey sandwiches: integral beach prep.

+

Over seven hours on the beach...nice breezes, an invigorating swim in challenging waves, a long walk out to the point, good reads, choice beach snacks, good friends, good times.
Serenity now.

The best part of being at the beach is when everyone else leaves, and the day is waning.
That's great any day of the week you're at the beach, but it's the best on Sunday.

+

What's better than an outdoor shower?
Not much.

+

A huge slice of pizza at Basilico's to fortify ourselves

+

LeCompt at the Springfield. Awesome times as always.

+

Pizza and mozzarella sticks at Casino Pizza and a drunken ride home on the Jitney

    1. LeCompt plays the Beatles, the Who, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, lots of stuff.

All of the beach photos are from my iPhone, but I didn't use Instagram. I used Camera+, then framed them using Pic Stitch.

  4. Holler on the Vita Coco. It's my holy grail of hangover preventatives. I prefer the pineapple flavor, as the unflavored tastes like man sweat.
