Thursday Thoughts

1. I get really jazzed when Bon Jovi's Bed of Roses comes on my iPod so I can belt out these lyrics:

Well this hotel bar's hangover whiskey's gone dry
The barkeeper's wig's crooked
And she's giving me the eye
Well I might have said yeah
But I laughed so hard I think I died

They're sort of so bad, they're good. You know?

2.  I've heard many mentions of Nora Ephron's films since her passing last week. I might be the odd man out - I don't like When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail - I think it's Meg Ryan. However, I do admire Ephron's honest writing. She really puts herself out there. Before it was a movie, Heartburn was a book, and it was a good one. Not to mention her various essays and columns in magazines. I love this sentiment in peace, Nora.

3. This morning I heard two of the rudest women on the 7:58 train discussing other passengers as if they were the rude ones. It was like a SNL skit. I should never take that train. It is fraught with assholes.

4. As the personal travel agent for our home, this week I booked tickets for Alcatraz and a rental car for Tahoe. I also made the final payment for our cruise. Holler holler holler for fifty million dollars.

5. I can't get enough of the red grape.

Don't you want one?

6. I made cilantro lime chicken tacos for tonight, figuring I'd be burned out on grilled items. They are awesome. I highly recommend them if you haven't made them.

7. A day off in the middle of the week to celebrate independence is quite nice. I had a really productive morning, then went swimming at Mom & Rich's, then had dinner at Dad & Carol's.
I made crack potatoes. They were just eh.
Relaxing afternoon at my personal swim club
Carol served one of my favorite desserts, which also happens to be red, white and blue
8. However, today feels like Monday Part Deux. I'm all fahcocktuhed.

9. At the risk of sounding like a crotchedly old person, enough with the illegal fireworks! Enough enough good shit enough!!!!!! Last night Geege barked continually, incessantly, maniacally from 8 - 11. That's three hours of constant dog barking. Then thunder tag teamed the fireworks for an encore bark presentation. I tried the trick of rubbing him with a dryer sheet when the storm started, and while he did bark, it was not like he normally barks. I'm not sure if that was from the dryer sheet or from him barking for three hours straight, and I'm too tired to think about it further.

10. Have you seen 21 Jump Street? I thought it was hilarious.

11. Ecard of the week, repinned from Lori:

Even though it's Thursday, my thoughts are not really flowing today. I'm kicking them in the face with a large iced coffee and hoping for the best.

Have a lovely day, you Goonies. Remember: down here, it's our time. It's our time down here. That's all over the second we ride up Troy's bucket.

Think about it.

Tell me what you think, leave a comment! I'll reply to you via email if you have an email associated with yourself, otherwise, check back here for my reply. Thank you and good day. I SAID GOOD DAY.
